Shlomo
Elkan
I am Shlomo Elkan, a Jewish educator, writer, storyteller, and community builder based in Jerusalem.
A little more about me
In my own words
“Because I genuinely
enjoy crossing borders.”
I like finding myself in a room where I am an unexpected presence. I like hearing the assumptions people make about my life, and the moment when those assumptions give way to an actual conversation.

Sunday School
Nearly three months into life in Jerusalem, I’m still having trouble with Sundays.

The person behind the words
More than a
first impression.
My work has always centered on people, ideas, and the conversations that help us understand who we are and what we are called upon to build.
Some of the most meaningful moments did not take place at a podium or in a classroom. They happened around a Shabbos table, over a cup of coffee, during a long walk, or in an unexpected conversation with someone trying to make sense of a difficult question.
